Supplying Australia or New Zealand?

CSi works with international manufacturers and suppliers seeking to understand certification evidence for Australian and New Zealand markets.

Plan before you test

Start with the intended use and market.

A product standard alone may not establish regulatory suitability. Product classification, intended use, installation conditions, jurisdiction and the selected compliance pathway can affect the required evidence.

Define the destination

Identify the country, state or territory, intended building or plumbing application, and the parties who will rely on certification.

Map the evidence

Provide drawings, model lists, materials, installation instructions, existing reports and the standards or specifications already considered.

Assess manufacturing controls

Certification may require assessment of the manufacturing location and controls supporting consistent production, in addition to product testing.

Prepare usable documentation

Technical evidence must be clear, traceable and suitable for review. CSi may require reliable English-language documentation or translations.

Information to have ready

Make the first review productive.

Incomplete or inconsistent product information can delay application review, sampling, testing and certification.

  • Legal manufacturer and proposed certificate holder
  • Factory address and manufacturing activities
  • Product family, models and critical variations
  • Intended Australian or New Zealand use
  • Drawings, specifications and installation instructions
  • Existing laboratory reports and laboratory accreditation details
  • Quality plan and production-control information
  • Local importer, distributor or regulatory contacts where relevant

Bring your product and market information.

CSi will confirm whether the requested work falls within its available certification services and explain the application requirements.
