CSi receive
quite a number of enquiries from the general public, building
inspectors, etc; regarding the compliance marking of safety
glazing materials to Australian and New Zealand Standard;
In order to
demonstrate compliance with the standard the safety glazing
material marking should details as a minimum;
1.
The “Company name or registered trademark” of the
safety glazing manufacturer or supplier.
2.
The standard “Nominal thickness” in millimetres
for the safety glazing material.
3.
The “Grade” of the safety glazing material.
4.
Lettering indication the “Type” of safety glazing
material.
5.
The “Reference number” of the Australian/New
Zealand Standard to which the safety glazing material has been
deemed to comply with.
Additional
marking may include the use of a “Third party certification
body” trademark logo, such as the PAS-Mark, and a unique
identification number to identify the manufacturing site.
Compliance
marking should be by permanent marking.

Where
permanent marking is requested not to be used, a removable label
may be used. The removable label should self destruct when
removed so that it cannot be re-applied.

The above
compliance marking is indicative only. The supplied safety
glazing material may require varied or additional markings as
indicated in AS/NZS 2208:1996 Safety glazing materials in
buildings. |
